We are happy to honor Mary Funk as the July 2023 Employee Spotlights recipient. Mary's vibrant personality and unwavering dedication to her work have made her an invaluable member of the team.

Before finding her calling at Loman-Ray, Mary embarked on a journey of diverse experiences. Her professional path began as a receptionist at a local beauty salon during her high school years. Seeking new adventures, she crossed paths for a brief year with an job working on an assembly line, though was happy to say goodbye to hairnets when it was time to move on. Mary transitioned to banking, where she devoted 20 years of her life before joining Loman-Ray Insurance. Her varied background has equipped her with a unique perspective and a well-rounded skill set, enhancing her ability to serve clients effectively.

Mary's decision to pursue a career in insurance was greatly influenced by her parents, who always encouraged her and her sister to explore the industry. Although she initially found the idea intimidating, Mary eventually heeded their advice and entered the insurance field. Over the past six years, she has discovered a deep connection with this profession, cherishing the opportunity to assist clients and make a positive impact in their lives. Looking back, Mary wishes she had listened to her parents sooner, recognizing the fulfillment her chosen career path brings her.

Beyond her work life, Mary finds inspiration and fulfillment through various activities and hobbies. Gardening and connecting with nature allow her to recharge and find solace in the beauty of the outdoors. Additionally, her involvement in motocross has played a significant role in her life. Since her boys began racing at the tender ages of 5 and 3, Mary has been a steadfast supporter, witnessing their growth and passion firsthand. The joy she derives from watching her children pursue their dreams fuels her own aspirations and outlook on life.

When asked about her choice of superhero power, Mary's shares that having the power of flight would enable her to whisk her loved ones away to any destination at a moment's notice, free from the constraints of travel logistics. Her desire to provide her family with unforgettable experiences reflects her devotion to those she loves.
