Cassidy Kerst’s career journey has always centered on one thing: people. From her days working as a hostess at Possum Trot in Oakwood to becoming a trusted face at the local bank, she’s always thrived on building connections and making a difference in her community. “I realized how much I truly loved the customer interaction,” Cassidy recalls of her early career. This passion for serving others is what ultimately led her to the insurance industry and her current role as a CSR in Loman-Ray’s Danville office.
It was a conversation with a coworker at the bank that opened the door to her new path. “I had no idea what I was getting into,” Cassidy laughs, recalling her early days in insurance. But it didn’t take long for her to find her footing. The constant learning and unpredictable nature of the industry kept her on her toes, and she quickly realized she had found a place where she could grow.
Today, Cassidy is an essential part of the Danville office and a key player on the personal lines team. “Honestly, the people I work with are my favorite part,” she says. “The Danville office is amazing, and we’re always there to help and support each other. That makes such a huge impact on your day-to-day environment.” Her enthusiasm for her team and clients is infectious, and it’s no wonder she was nominated by several colleagues for October’s Employee Spotlight.
One of Cassidy’s proudest moments at Loman-Ray comes from her ability to make a real difference in the lives of her clients. “I love when I can help insureds save money on their premiums and provide them with better coverage. We’re in some crazy times right now, but hearing the relief in their voices—that’s such a great feeling.” This dedication to helping others, paired with her love for building meaningful relationships, defines her work ethic and the care she brings to every interaction.
Outside of work, Cassidy stays just as active. A dedicated youth cheer coach for nine years, she’s taken a break from coaching but remains deeply involved in her church community. She and her husband host a weekly small group at their home, and both serve on the youth committee—he as the youth pastor. Their two-year-old, full of energy and sass, keeps life busy, fun, and unpredictable.
Cassidy’s favorite way to unwind? “I’m a 90’s kid, so any 90’s country music is my favorite! Tim McGraw is one concert I would love to go to,” she shares. Her dream vacation? Visiting her birthplace of Frankfurt, Germany, to explore where her parents lived when they were stationed on the military base. But until then, she’s more than happy with any destination that has a beach!
With a strong commitment to her team, clients, and community, Cassidy Kerst continues to make an impact in every role she takes on—whether it’s at work, at church, or at home with her family.
