Do I need a referral to see a specialist?

While your insurance does not require a referral for you to see an in-network specialist, some specialists want a referral before they will make an appointment for you. This is their requirement and not required by your insurance. They would prefer you to have some of the preliminary work completed before seeing the specialist. This can save time when you have your specialist appointment.

What is the easiest, least expensive way to see a doctor?

A telemedicine service like HealhiestYou or MD Live is often the simplest and most cost-effective way to visit a medical provider 24 hours a day. Not sure if you have access to a telemedicine service? Check with your HR representative or simply ask Nurse Navigator.

Where is the least expensive place to get a lab test?

You can save up to 80% by using independent labs such as Quest or LabCorp. To find the nearest location visit Quest Diagnostics or LabCorp, or contact your Nurse Navigator for help.

What are the most important screening tests for me?

Routine annual wellness visits and screenings are particularly important in staying healthy. Many diseases can be prevented with simple screenings such as mammograms, prostate screenings, diabetes screenings, and colonoscopies. Start a conversation with Nurse Navigator to learn more.

Does my insurance cover colonoscopies?

Screening colonoscopies at age 45 and above, that are done for prevention are covered at 100%. It does not need pre-authorization under these circumstances. If this test is done because you are having any symptoms, you may be subject to co-pays and deductibles.
